An exhibition celebrating the awe-inspiring career of American songwriter Sufjan Stevens.
If the Walker Art Center in Minnesota put on an exhibition covering the storied career of prominent indie musician Sufjan Stevens, what might their branding look like? What typefaces, colors, and graphics would best represent Stevens’ work in a fine art context?
Inspired by the design language used in his album covers, I developed an expressive, yet simple visual identity system to represent his unique artistic vision without overshadowing it. In particular, I took the motif of "ascension" prominent throughout his work and applied it to a set of appealing brand assets.

I chose a few typefaces that harmonized well with those found on his album covers. I also developed a warm, friendly, and bright color palette inspired by his visual design.
